Who is going, what you want, roughly when. We ask one short question if something is missing.
A room, things to do and somewhere to eat — chosen for the trip you described, with one total.
It is significantly cheaper than usual for that exact route, season, trip length and cabin — not simply a cheap flight. The percentage is measured against what the same trip normally costs, so 78% off a long-haul fare and 78% off a weekend hop mean the same thing.
Because no discount was measured on them. A badge means the fare came out significantly below what that route normally costs; most fares, most days, simply are what they are — and one of those is usually the cheapest thing on the page.
Some days nothing from a given airport is below its usual. The board still has the lowest fares going, because there is always a cheapest fare; it just has no badges on it that day. That is the honest answer rather than ordinary fares dressed up as bargains.
The card opens into the trip, and everything you said in your sentence carries into it. Ask for a place to stay and we look up rooms for those exact dates — three options, with what the whole stay costs, and which three depends on the kind of trip you described. Ask for things to do and we rank what is genuinely worth doing there; ask where to eat and we do the same for restaurants. A family gets parks and places with a kids menu where a bachelorette gets bars. Nothing is fetched until you ask, and you can save and leave at any point.
A sentence says more than a row of chips, and it says it faster. “A long weekend somewhere warm in November for four of us” fills the trip in one line — where you fly, who is going, roughly when — and every one of those used to be a separate control asked before you had seen a single price.
So there is one field now, and the only other thing on the board is which airport you are leaving from, because that is the one fact a description of a holiday never contains. If your sentence leaves out something that would change the answer, we ask you a single short question with a couple of tappable replies rather than putting a control on the page for it.
Nothing was lost in the trade. A city, a month, exact days, a cabin, a length, a budget a night — say any of them in the sentence and they land exactly where the chips used to put them.
No, and there is nowhere to pick one. Say nothing about where and you get the lowest fares from your airport to anywhere, with the measurably discounted ones marked — which is the whole idea, because choosing the place first fixes the price before you have seen a number.
If you already know where you are going, just say so in the sentence. “Two weeks in Toronto in December” searches Toronto.
Only as precisely as you actually mean it. Name exact days — “the 3rd to the 10th of June” — and we find the cheapest fare for those days, but a measured discount comes from moving the dates, so pinning them down rules out the cheap week we would otherwise have found you.
A month is the middle answer and it keeps everything working: “somewhere warm in October” gets you the discounted fares as well as the cheap ones. Saying nothing at all is the best answer of the three, and it is why the board opens with no dates set.
Once you open a fare, the chart inside prices the fortnight around it and can move the whole trip to a cheaper day in one tap.
No, and there is no mechanism by which one could. The order is the price, cheapest first, and nothing else touches it — which is a claim you can check by reading down the grid. Nothing here is sponsored, nothing is boosted, and we take no commission on anything you book.
